Outcomes
A visual identity system for the 2020 Bachelor of Design Grad Show
This project was done in collaboration with Jenna Jaik and with the help of our wonderful grad committee.
grad show 2020
This visual identity was created for our Bachelor of Design graduation show at the University of Alberta. Jenna and I collaborated to create the brand identity, catalogue, and promotional materials for the show. Any designed object is the outcome of an extensive and often hidden design process, involving research, ideation, critique, and iteration. We tried to visualize our own design journey while incorporating the multi-disciplinary perspectives of other grads in the show to our audience of faculty, industry professionals, alumni, family, and friends. Unfortunately, due to public health risks in March, Outcomes was postponed and promotional and exhibit production was put on hold. We look forward to seeing this show through at a later, safer time.

The design process isn’t always as linear as we may like it to be. Like the final outcome of a design process, clean letterforms in the illustration emerge from twisting and turning pathways below. Within this warped, three-dimensional space, we see some tools designers rely on—research, rulers, pencils, critique, materials, and of course, a grid.
